5 Not-To-Be-Missed Shows For The Upcoming Week
The sun is shining, Easter weekend is just around the corner and Spring is in the are! I thought I’d share a bit of my relaxed optimism (while it lasts) by highlighting 5 shows perfect for chilling out in the week ahead! So grab your favorite blanket and snack and let’s watch some TV!
Running Wild with Bear Grylls—Monday, March 29, at 9 p.m. ET on National Geographic
Bear Grylls is back for the wildest seas of Running Wild yet! Guests can expect the high-octane celebrity guests who will travel to new perilous locations and be brought back to the very brink of what they think they can handle as they face some of the toughest challenges seen on the series yet. This season has it all, heights, rattlesnakes, scorpions, spiders and massive displays of courage. In the first episode of the season, Grylis and his first celebrity guest Terry Crews get dropped onto an Icelandic peak!
Race to the Center of the Earth—Monday, March 29, at 10 p.m. ET on National Geographic
This seven part series pits four teams of three against one another in a sprint around the globe for a $1 million cash prize. Teams race from different corners of the planet (North America, Southeast Asia, Russia and South America) and find themselves traversing untamed jungles, frozen arctic, arid deserts, bustling cities, treacherous mountains and vast oceans to reach the locations where all of the routes intersect. The first team there is the winner! Don’t miss tonight’s episode called “Hit the Ground Running” which includes a steep challenge designed to test the teams’ resolve.
Pooch Perfect—Tuesday, March 30, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC
Bring on the pupper dogs! Tuesday is the series premiere with an episode called From Grotty to Hottie where 10 grooming teams facing off in the first Immunity Puppertunity challenge, in which groomers must turn a messy dog into a prized-winning pooch. Then it’s on to the “Ultimutt Challenge” where the teams must transform their dog into an entirely different animal. The transformation will be judged by Lisa Vanderpump, Dr. Callie Harris, and Jorge Bendersky, who will then vote on Best in Show and send one team home with their tail between their legs.
American Housewife—Wednesday, March 31, at 8:30 p.m. ET on ABC
Wednesday is the season finale for American Housewife in an episode titled “The Election”, Katie (Katy Mixon) pushes Cooper (Logan Pepper) to share his passion for cooking and his dream of becoming a chef with his autocratic father Doyle (Joel McHale.) Meanwhile Greg (Diedrich Bader) and Principal Ablin (Jerry Lambert) square off when the election results take an interesting turn. The whole Otto family including kids Taylor (Meg Donnelly), Oliver (Daniel DiMaggio), and Anna-Kat (Giselle Eisenberg) get the surprise of a lifetime.
That Thing You Do!—Thursday, April 1, on Hulu
Tom Hanks writes, directs and stars in this 1996 comedy set in the 1960s that tells the story of Amos White a manager of a small-town band called The Oneders with big aspirations. After the band’s drummer Chad (Giovanni Ribisi) breekas his arm, he is replaced by a jazz player Guy “Shades” Patterson (Tom Everett Scott) who unexpectedly injects some much needed life into the bands music helping them become and overnight sensation! Rounding out the film’s cast are Ethan Embry, Charlize Theron, Liv Tyler, Jonathon Schaech, and Steve Zahn.
