Social Distancing Dividers Added To Pirates of The Caribbean Queue
MickeyBlog is coming to you LIVE! from the Magic Kingdom today. Earlier this afternoon we reported that new plastic dividers have been placed along the outside queue line at the Haunted Mansion.
After our visit to Liberty Square we ventured over to Adventureland and can confirm that the same holds true for the line at Pirates of the Caribbean.
The social distancing markers at the attraction are not new. However, these have now been topped with black and plexiglass dividers.
We wove our way through the line this afternoon and can confirm that the dividers are in place throughout the entire queue.
Ever since Walt Disney World opened after the lengthy COVID-19 closure Disney has been constantly updating and revising it’s social distancing policies to better protect guests.
In the lead in to Christmas, Disney started putting up plastic dividers on many of it’s ride vehicles.
This eliminated the need for cast members to leave every other row of ride vehicles empty meaning that the lines for the rides would move quicker.
Bob Chapek announced at the end of last year that Disney was adapting new strategies to allow more guests into the parks at a time.
When the parks first reopened last Summer they only filled the park up to 25% capacity.
This has since gone up to 35% and as Disney looks to allow even more guests into the parks in the months ahead, it makes sense that they would be looking for ways to eliminated exposure in what will only continue to be longer line queues.
In addition to the dividers social distancing markers can be found throughout the Pirates of the Caribbean queue.
The mandatory use of facemasks is also still required at the theme parks.
We’ve seen plastic dividers crop up on everything from Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway to Rise of the Resistance and “it’s a small world.”
We do expect additional rides to follow suit!
This is a story that we will continue to follow closely here at MickeyBlog. Readers are encouraged to keep checking back with us for further news and updates.
