Margot Robbie Teases About Pirates of the Caribbean Reboot
After the announcement of Johnny Depp leaving the beloved Pirates of the Caribbean franchise and Margot Robbie stepping up to be the next front runner of the series, fans of the films have had questions that have been left unanswered.
Margot Robbie is currently in the hot seat for many of these questions, such as if Captain Jack Sparrow will be in the newest installment in any capacity, or if this new reboot will be a complete separate entity from it’s predecessor in a different universe.
While she has remained silent up until now, she did tease fans in a recent episode of the Happy Sad Confused podcast.
Upon being asked if she was indeed to take the lead role in the Pirates of the Caribbean film, her only response was “Maybe. It’s early days. I shan’t say no more…for now.”
Further questioning on the podcast asked if was set to be Johnny Depp’s successor as lead for the franchise was met with the ambiguous statement “time will tell,”.
While the franchise is looking to move on without Johnny Depp, fans have made petitions for the actor to be rehired and star once again in the saga. The petition which is currently on Change.org has just over 300k signatures at the time of writing claims that the reboot will “sink” and “they will never be able to reach the horizon they’re looking for.”.
