Kevin Feige Spills The Tea (Sort of) On Black Widow Going Straight To Disney+
Marvel boss Kevin Feige has been making the rounds this week to promote WandaVision and has taken some time to respond to other questions fans may have about the Marvel Cinematic Universe. One of the big questions still left unanswered is whether or not Black Widow will premiere in theaters later this Spring as planned or due to the continued issues presented by COVID, will it go to Disney+.
We may have an answer (sort of)…

As DigitalSpy writes, the movie, which stars Scarlett Johansson, Florence Pugh, Rachel Weisz and David Harbour is STILL slated to be released on May 7th. However, with COVID cases still soaring and vaccinations slow to roll out, many are wondering if that will be possible.
When asked asked during a recent press junket whether Black Widow would premiere exclusively in cinemas or stream on Disney+, Feige said that it’s too early to make that call.

Regarding Black Widow’s release plans, Feige said, “If I had a crystal ball, I’d look into it and tell you. I don’t.” The Marvel Studios head went on to say that he’s hopeful that Marvel will be able to continue to tell interconnected stories across theater and television. He said, “Our long lead plan was to have the MCU and the storytelling woven between weekly episodic big swings on Disney+ and into the feature big swings in theatres.” Feige added, “It’s my great hope that that continues. Don’t ask me week by week what is going to happen in this world – I have no idea and don’t want to guess.”
Feige went on to say that until last year the plans for Marvel releases had “gone remarkably well.” He added that he is hopeful that fans will be able to return to cinemas in the not-to-distant future.
However, May may still be TOO SOON with many fans not expected to be immunized until Late Spring/Early Summer.
