Rumor Has It Robert Downey Jr. May Be Joining Star Wars
Robert Downey Jr. had arguably one of the most important characters in the Marvel universe. Tony Stark. He created Iron Man and started it all. Spoiler alert, if you haven’t seen Avengers: Endgame, he pretty much saves the entire population at the cost of him losing his own life. That was the last time we would see him in a Marvel movie.
But there are rumors swirling that Disney might want him for a role in the Star Wars spin-off series, The Mandalorian.
With The Mandalorian being the most pirated show in 2020, Disney knows they have something special on their hands. And fans of both Star Wars and Marvel would be excited to see a familiar face in the cast.
Take this information with a grain of salt, as nothing has been confirmed.
Sources close to the production have confirmed that creator Jon Favreau has been “writing season 3 for a while,” and that the art department, led by Lucasfilm vice president and executive creative director Doug Chiang, has been creating concepts for Season 3 “for the past few weeks.” “We’ve just started pre-production and are looking into further adventures for the Mandalorian in Season 3,” revealed one source.
In addition, another source with knowledge of the situation confirmed that the production design department began working on season 3 on April 20, pointing to the fact the department requires “such a huge lead time” to explain why “the gears have started grinding really early on.”
