Billie Lourd and Mark Hamill Pay Tribute To Carrie Fisher On Anniversary of Her Death
Its been four years since the passing of Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill along with Fisher’s daughter Billie Lourd have taken to social media on Saturday to pay tribute to the Star Wars actress.

Fisher had a wide and varied carrier but is best known for her role as Princess Leia Organa in the Star Wars films. As ScreenRant tells us, Fisher first stepped into the role of Leia in the original Star Wars film and would later reprise the role for the sequel trilogy.
She came back to the character in 2015’s The Force Awakens and was expected to play a pivotal role in the rest of the series when she tragically passed away in December 2016 before the second film arrived in cinemas. Her death was closely followed by her mother Debbie Reynolds’.
Leia appeared in both The Last Jedi which was dedicated to the actress as well as The Rise of Skywalker which as ScreenRant tells us, adapted unused footage of Fisher to complete Princess Leia’s story. .
On the 4th Anniversary of Leia’s death, Fisher’s onscreen brother Luke Skywalker in Star Wars franchise shared a simple image of The Last Jedi‘s dedication to Fisher with the words “#AlwaysWithUs.”

Fisher’s daughter Billie Lourd also posted a photo of her with her mom with the caption, “Sending my love and strength to everyone out there that’s missing a loved one they’ve lost. Especially those of you who have lost someone during this crazy year. You’re not alone.”

With the expansion of Star Wars franchise by Disney in the year’s to come, Fisher’s presence is one that will continue to be sadly missed. However, as Luke says to Leia in The Last Jedi, “No one’s ever really gone.”
