Walt’s Apartment Gets Seasonal Decor Despite Disneyland’s Closure
We’ve got a story for your Saturday evening that really warms our holiday hearts. Despite being closed for 10 months in 2020, Disneyland isn’t forgetting to pay tribute to Walt Disney this holiday season.
Josh D’Amaro took to Instagram to share an image of Walt’s apartment on Main Street USA in Disneyland theme park where you’ll find a very special seasonal surprise!

D’Amaro Says of visit, “Stopped into the Disneyland Resort this week and was delighted to see the Resort Enhancement team had installed the tree in Walt’s Apartment — we always leave a light on for him. I had to share since I know you won’t be able to see it this year. Be safe everyone. Happy Holidays!”
Disneyland theme park was forced to close in February of 2020 at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic and with stringent requirements in the State of California to combat the spread of COVID-19 has remained closed ever since.
As of going to print, the only areas of Disneyland Resort to be open to the public are Downtown Disney as well as a section of Buena Vista Street. Both areas are open for shopping and takeaway dining options.
Because of the continued spread of COVID-19 in the state of California there hasn’t been any indication of when Disneyland Resort may reopen. However, its nice to know that Walt’s legacy lives on even without the crowds.
Since Disneyland is the park that Walt built, he famously had his own personal apartment located above the Fire Station in Disneyland theme park right on Main Street. Over the years, a lone candle has graced the window of Walt’s apparent to honor his legacy. Be sure to look out for it during your next Disney visit.
