Iman Villani is Cast as “Ms Marvel”
“Ms. Marvel” (Iman Villani) is yet another exciting series coming to Disney+ from the Marvel Universe. The show is set to debut sometime in late 2021 and its creation included a long search for the actress who will play the title character. After Disney Investor Day today, new information has been released and fans are even more excited about Ms. Marvel.
Ms. Marvel
Ms. Marvel is a Pakistani-American teenage girl who lives in New Jersey. Her name is Kamala Khan and she is the first onscreen Muslim hero in Marvel films. The character is played by newcomer actress, Iman Vellani.

Marvel studios wanted to stay true to the character and that meant casting someone who was relatively unknown, since Ms. Marvel is one of the newer characters in Marvel comics. According to the new video, “Sizzle”, Vellani was a unanimous choice.
The Show
Ms. Marvel is inspired by Captain Marvel. Much about the details of the show itself are unknown, but we do know that the continuation of a strong female hero will be present in the series. The creator, Bisha K. Ali, has experience in stand-up comedy and television writing.
Filming was scheduled to begin in November of 2020 with several actors known to be cast. However, their specific roles are undisclosed.
Fans of the Marvel series have much to look forward to. Previously established characters like Vision, Loki, Falcon and Winter Solider all have series ready to debut. We also are looking forward to Hawkeye and Black Widow shows and films. But, new characters, like Ms. Marvel are also on the horizon and the future is bright for the Marvel franchise.
