Comic Book And Television Writer Martin Pasko Passed Away At the Age of 65
Martin Pasko, a comic book and television writer best know for his work with Superman has passed away at the age of 65. One of his friends took to Facebook this week to announce that Pasko has passed away on Sunday of natural causes.
Pasko started writing comics in 1972 and was a regular contributor to DC’s Superman comic books. He also lent his hand to Justice League of America, Wonder Woman and more
Pasko also wrote for television and served as a story editor on many shows including Max Headroom, Buck Rogers in the 25th Century and The Twilight Zone. In addition, he contributed to popular animated series including Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, G.I. Joe and Thundarr the Barbarian. In the 1990’s Pasko even went on to win an Emmy for his work on Batman: The Animated Series.
Pasko also had a stint at Disney where according to The Hollywood Reporter hew worked on a short-lived Disney publishing program in the 1990s. In addition, Pasko served as a liaison between DC Comics and Warner Brothers helping with projects including the recently released Birds of Prey.
In a statement released on Facebook, former DC Comics President Paul Levitz said, “[T]he odds are you’ve read his work, credited or not, or enjoyed a comic or cartoon or tv show or even a theme park event he made better.”
