Is the real hero of The Avengers saga Doctor Strange’s Cloak of Levitation?
Perhaps the thing that is most enduring about the Marvel Cinematic Universe is its sense of humor.
It’s Stan Lee’s sense of humor, transplanted from the comics onto the screen by Kevin Feige and his fellow creators. And, in each MCU movie, it creates a running current of goodwill throughout the franchise.
And, unlike the current crop of DC movies (and much more like the Christopher Reeve Superman films, and Michael Keaton Batman films) keeps the tone light enough to cut the tension.
Favorite Characters. Favorite Objects.

And, while many might have favorite characters — Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow — other fans have favorite objects.
Cap’s shield. Thor’s hammer. Hulks, um, stretchy pants? You can have them all.
For my money, the best object in the MCU is Doctor Strange’s cloak.
