Rise of the Resistance: WDW, WiFi, and Waiting
Those of us who have been lucky enough to enjoy Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, know it is worth the wait.
But it is a hassle to get a boarding group.
And it is a hassle to wait in a long queue (even if you are a big Star Wars fan). Believe me!

However, how much of a hassle is it worth, exactly?
Well, one reporter took a deep dive into the Rise of the Resistance attraction at Walt Disney World and it seems the answer is: It’s worth a lot of hassle to immerse yourself in the Star Wars galaxy.
Rise of the Resistance: Gotta Be Quick
Dewayne Bevil of the Orlando Sentinel posted:
Disney World: Rise of the Resistance hopefuls have mere seconds to catch the ride
And, in terms of journalistic ledes; well, you can’t do much better than this:
Each morning at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, there’s a brief moment of silence. Theme-park visitors stand motionless. Heads are bowed. There may be a few thoughts and prayers, but it’s not a religious service.
It’s more like a high-stakes game. Call it Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance roulette, in which winners earn the right to ride one of Walt Disney World’s newest, most in-demand rides.

Within seconds of the park’s official opening, it’s over. Cries of joy come from some corners; other voices yell “They’re gone already?” All of the ride’s loading groups have been assigned for the morning, courtesy of the My Disney Experience app. Those who missed out can try again at 2 p.m.
A Real Experience
Ha! I remember thinking (again) that I was very, very lucky to have my wife.
This time, in particular, it was because she had fast thumbs as she worked to get us boarding group.
All of us enjoyed the ride: two adults, three boys (then) 9, 7, and 3.

The queue was impressive; especially as I have read many of the Star Wars comics and novels, which take place on Batuu.
And I am not alone in feeling the trouble is worth it.
