Splash Mountain “Fishing Bird” Is Napping On The Job
Not again! It looks like gravity has taken hold of another Disney animatronic, but this time its at Magic Kingdom. The Splash Mountain “fishing bird” animatronic appears to have taken a quick nap in his boat. This extremely popular attraction is now experiencing a 75 minute wait time for guests to enjoy (and possibly point and laugh at).

You can see from this Disney World image what our fishing friend normally looks like as guests slide down “Slippin’ Falls”. This is where guests enter the indoor portion of the attraction, where various Audio-Animatronic animals sing the attraction’s first musical number, “How Do You Do?”
You’ll remember from earlier this summer that our friend Nick at MagicalNewsLive (who if you’re not following along with on Twitter and YouTube you’ll definitely want to) also captured the tragic moment that our favorite Brazilian Parrot face-planted right in the middle of the Three Caballeros’ musical number.

Splash Mountain originally opened on July 17, 1989 at Disneyland Resort and has been a fan favorite ever since. This past June, Disney made a major announcement regarding this beloved attraction and that a new adventure was in store for the ride. Although the closure date has not been announced yet, Splash Mountain – at both Disneyland park in California and Magic Kingdom park in Florida – will soon be completely reimagined. The new theme is inspired by the animated Disney film, “The Princess and the Frog.”
Update: Nick with MagicalNewsLIVE went back to Splash Mountain at 4:30 PM to see if anything had changed. Take a look!
