The Wave and Kona Cafe Add Mobile Order Options
Mobile ordering is Disney’s preferred way for guests to order their quick-service food since the re-opening of the parks. Parks closed in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and since reopening there have been significant health and safety precautions taken by Walt Disney World. One of those is the option to mobile order and pick-up your food.
Mobile ordering using the My Disney Experience App was an option at several park locations prior to COVID, but now this option has extended to many more restaurants including some at the resorts. This week The Wave at Disney’s Contemporary Resort and Kona Cafe at Disney’s Polynesian Resort added mobile ordering.
Kona Cafe
There is not an official “mobile ordering” button for Kona. The Cafe is offering “Kona Cafe To Go” which is a way to take your food back to your resort room or to an outside location in order to eat. Kona is located inside Disney’s Polynesian resort and is famous for their Tonga Toast breakfast. Here is a link to their full menu, breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The Wave
The Wave of American Flavors is also offering the “Wave to go” option. This cafe is located in Disney Contemporary Resort and also offers breakfast, lunch and dinner to go. In order to eat inside the restaurant, advanced reservations are required. Here is a link to the full menu for The Wave of American Flavors.
It is expected as more and more dining locations open at Walt Disney World, these options for “To Go” opportunities and mobile ordering will be encouraged and more prevalent. Several dining locations are still closed, including some very popular quick service locations like Casey’s Corner at Magic Kingdom. With park attendance up and crowds getting bigger, this “To Go” option may take some pressure off the restaurants that are open at the parks and resorts.
