4 Year Old Girl Gets Disney-themed Make-A-Wish Celebration In Her Backyard
As we’ve previously reported here at MickeyBlog, the COVID-19 pandmenic makes it hard for anyone to travel without the fear of infection. This is even more so for Make-A-Wish kids who have seen their wishes of going to Disneyland or Disney World put on hold. One such awesome little one is Makala Lynn Robin, a four year old from the San Diego area with a heart condition called hypoplastic left heart syndrome (where the left side of the heart doesn’t form correctly.)
A HUGE Disney fan, when Mikala was asked by Make-A-Wish (which grants wishes for critically ill children) what she wanted, her wish was to have Disney come her. What happened next is truly magical!

As you can see from the awesome images above, Makala’s entire backyard got an awesome Disney makeover. It started when Mikala was asked to plant magic seeds in her back garden. She then went away to stay with her grandparents for a few days while Make-A-Wish added a big dose of pixie dust to her home.
The transformation included a Minnie Mouse playhouse, a motorized car, roads so that Mikala could have her very own Disney parades, a movie theater with Disney+ and so much more.
When Makala returned home you can imagine her excitement. Here mom had this to say about the big reveal, “When Makala’s wish was revealed, the look of amazement and wonder just swept across her little face.” Mom added, “She couldn’t get enough of her Disney backyard. A new adventure around every corner. At one point she ran up to me and gave me the biggest hug, looked at me, and shrieked with happiness. I knew this was everything she wanted and that her days would be filled with even more happy memories.”
Best of all it was something the whole family can enjoy. According to mom “Traveling can be hard on Makala’s health and her brother’s, who is a newly diagnosed Type 1 diabetic, so we don’t do it often.” She continued, “Having this newly transformed backyard was something out of a book. We no longer have to rush home from the park or skip it entirely. She can rest when she is tired and play at her own pace.”
