‘Mulan’ Will Debut on Disney+ for an Additional Fee
The good news in today’s The Walt Disney Company third quarter earnings call is the success of Disney+. Keeping with that theme and the extended closure of movie theaters around the world, it was just announced the much-anticipated, live action Mulan will now debut on Disney+.
Mulan will be considered a “premium” on Disney+ and will cost subscribers an additional $29.99. The live action movie will be available as of September 4, 2020.

The debut of the live action Mulan has been delayed now several times. Originally, it was scheduled to be released on March 27, 2020. Then, it was pushed back to July 24, 2020 and after that it was pushed to August 21, 2020.
With it coming to Disney+ on September 4, it is not likely the premiere date will be pushed back again…at least one can hope!

Mulan will not be Disney’s first movie that was developed for a theatrical release to go to Disney+ this year due to the ongoing pandemic. Earlier this year, when things started closing down, Onward also went over to the streaming platform. And, then, this Summer saw the early release of Hamilton. The premiere of Frozen 2 on Disney+ was also bumped up to this March earlier this year.
