New Mutants: Breaking Down The Comic-Con Trailer
Last week, during Comic-Con@Home, The New Mutants dropped what I thought was an amazing trailer. And, for a film that’s seemed as doomed as its characters, I retain hope that The New Mutants might just be successful.
I mean, I’ve been writing about this thing for – well; a long time. And I am still psyched to see it.
And so, BTW, is our favorite maniacal movie breakdown artist, Erik Voss.

The New Mutants, featuring Marvel X-Men characters like Magik, Mirage, Sunspot, Wolfsbane, and Cannonball, finally seems to be ready to release to audiences — either in cinemas or online via Disney+. What is this dark #NewMutants plot featuring the #DemonBear villain secretly about, and in what ways could it still connect to the planned mutant reboot in the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Erik Voss breaks down all the details that you missed in this New Mutants trailer and opening scene showing the first two minutes of the film. What is the deeper meaning hidden in the opening lines of the New Mutants movie?

Anyone paying attention to my work here for the Mickey Blog family knows I LOVE NEW ROCKSTARS. Their trailer breakdowns have really helped me learn a whole lot about Marvel, Star Wars, and movies and television in general.
Listen To Erik, You Should
So, when Erik posits theories, I really listen carefully. Especially when he speaks about how the heroes in films like the X-Men movies or The New Mutants could find themselves in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
“There’s still a chance that elements from this universe could find their way to the MCU,” explained Voss. “Because we’ll hopefully be getting more information on Wanda Vision soon but we do know that former X-Men movie Quicksilver actor Evan Peters has been cast in that show in a mystery role.
“This has led some to believe that the MCU might use Wanda Maximoff’s exploration of the multiverse to retcon past X-Men film elements.”
But you should really watch the whole video to get the full scoop on the above!
