One Hundred Percent of NBA Players Have Tested Negative for COVID-19 in the Disney ‘Bubble’
The “Bubble” works! In some good news to report, the NBA has announced that not one player has tested positive for COVID-19 while inside the Walt Disney World “Bubble” since July 13.

NBA players and teams began entering the “Bubble” back on July 7. Once inside, they were subject to self-quarantine in their rooms for a few days at one of three Walt Disney World Resorts including the Gran Destino Tower at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, and Disney’s Beach Club Resort.
Once NBA players and staff passed quarantine, they were permitted to explore select areas of the Resort. Several have gone on fishing and golfing excursions and it has been reported that select attractions will be open in the Theme Parks for private “after hours” events. In addition, players and staff have access to a barber shop, DJ parties, and much more.
NBA exhibition games kicked off this week inside the Walt Disney World “Bubble.” The first regular season games will begin Thursday, July 30 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Each of the 22 teams invited will play eight regular season games and then the Playoffs will begin. The NBA Finals will begin towards the end of September and will end sometime by early to mid-October. Spectators are not permitted any of the games.
NBA players and staff are receiving frequent COVID-19 tests while in the Walt Disney World “Bubble” in addition to other safety measures being implemented. Players and staff are required to stay inside the “Bubble” at all times and if violated may be subject to self-quarantine up to 14 days.
It’s good to see the NBA “Bubble” at Walt Disney World is stopping the spread of COVID-19! Let’s hope this trend continues because it sure is nice to have live sports back!
