Not All NBA Players Are Feeling The Disney Magic
If you’ve been following along with MickeyBlog then you know that most of the NBA players competing in the playoffs happening at ESPN Wide World of Sports have checked into their hotels. Disney is putting the teams up at a few different resort properties including the Grand Floridian and Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort.
During these unprecedented times, Disney is working hard to add an extra little bit of pixie dust for visiting players. This includes bringing in custom made mattresses and more. However, not all players are feeling the Disney magic according to a recent piece in the New York Post. Case in point is Los Angeles Lakers guard J.R. Smith, 34 who took to Instagram to show himself holding up some of the amenities found in the room including an instant macaroni and cheese and saying, you want us to eat this s***?”
He then added, “I’m just saying bro. You want a Ferrari to run like a Ferrari because you paid for it as a Ferrari, but you keep gassing it up with all this…Chrysler s***”
And Smith isn’t the only one, Joel Embiid, Montrezl Harrell, Troy Daniels and Ben McLemore also took to social media to whine about their dining options. This after Lakers veteran Rajon Rondo compared his room at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort to a “Motel 6.”

However, as the NY Post is quick to point out, some players were a bit more relaxed about the options. One example is Ja Morant of the Memphis Grizzlies who said he was enjoying himself. In a post on twitterl, Morant said that he was enjoying the experience adding, “My room is fine. The food is fine. I’m not a silver spoon guy,”

Jaylen Brown of the Boston Celtics also urged his fellow players to relax. He told Mass Live, ‘We understand that the conditions might not be as normal as we’re used to. But no need to complain.”
The NBA season is expected to kick off at the end of this month with Players practicing in the lead in. Disney World has been diligent in trying to create a COVID-19 Free Bubble to keep the players safe. This includes temperature checks, enhanced sanitation and making player areas restricted to those not directly involved in the NBA or Disney.
We will continue to follow the NBA at Disney so keep checking in with us for further news and updates!
