Disney World Offers Financial Assistance to Annual Passholders Impacted by Billing Glitch
Last week, several Walt Disney World Annual Passholders woke up to drastic, incorrect charges on their bank account. Disney had stated that Annual Passholders who are Florida residents and set up on a monthly draft would not have money taken from their account during the extended closure due to the pandemic. However, those Passholders woke up last Friday morning and had four months worth of charges hit their bank accounts on the same day.

Disney was quick to apologize and issue an apology to Annual Passholders. But, for some, the damage was already done. Many Passholders received overdraft fees, along with other financial hits. In addition, it was a holiday weekend and many were left with no funds in their accounts among other inconveniences.

After the glitch was recognized by Disney, they immediately started working on refunds. Most Annual Passholders had money back in their account as early as this Monday.

Today, Disney is taking another step to make sure Annual Passholders are fully compensated for their billing glitch as they have just sent out this email:
Dear Valued Passholders,
We want to extend our deepest apologies to Annual Passholders that were affected by the error that resulted in authorization holds incorrectly applied to their accounts on July 3rd. These holds have been reversed and the charge should be reflected on your bank or credit card account at this time.
If you were impacted by this error and incurred bank fees or other harm as a result, please contact V.I.PASSHOLDER Support at (407) 939-7277 for assistance.
