Construction Update: TRON Coast Begins To Take Shape at Magic Kingdom
During our visit to Magic Kingdom today we notice that construction for the new TRON Lightcycle Run is still going strong and we couldn’t help but give you a first look!
We managed to capture some awesome images being done to the track being laid for the coaster as well as the construction of the building that will house the indoor attraction.
Last time we visited the theme parks the walls were just starting to go up for the TRON building. It is amazing to see them near completion.
Here’s an awesome look at the track giving you a sense of the sheer scale of this attraction. It also offers a great perspective of its placement in Tomorrowland with Space Mountain in the background.
We can’t remember the last time we were so dazzled by a project Disney was working on! Just a look at the construction site alone lets us know that the TRON coaster is going to be pretty EPIC!
TRON Lightcycle / Run is set to open at Magic Kingdom Park in time for Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary in 2021. It is a coster-style attraction that will allow riders to board a train of two-wheeled Lightcycles for a thrilling race through a digital frontier! A similar attraction has already become a fan favorite at Shanghai Disneyland where it opened in 2016! As of yet, Disney has not announced new regarding delays due to the COVID-19 closures. However, this is something that we’ll be keeping a close eye on so keep checking back with us for further news and updates.
