In a series described by Deadline.com as “Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown” for parenting, Jessica Alba is slated to investigate parenting across the world. The travel show will have Alba immersed with families in several countries.
The show is based on the book “Parenting Without Borders: Surprising Lessons Parents Around the World Can Teach Us” by Christine Gross-Loh, PhD. The book looks at ways parents shape their children through their belief system, culture and practices. Countries like France, Germany, Japan, China and Italy are featured in this research-based book (deadline.com).
Alba herself founded the Honest company, one of the leading makers of baby products. She is a parent herself, an actress, producer and entrepreneur. She will be joined in the series by actress Gabrielle Union. The show is just one of several Disney+ documentaries on the horizon. Current documentaries like The Imagineering Story, Becoming, and Waking Sleeping Beauty have set the tone for more live non-fiction documentary style shows.
