Tents For COVID-19 Temperature Checks Can Now Be Seen At Downtown Disney
This is the week that Downtown Disney at Disneyland Resort begins welcoming back guests after a four-month COVID-19 shutdown and this will mean new health and safety procedures. The Orange County Register popped by Disneyland’s shopping and dining district yesterday where they shared an image of the tents for temperature checks being erected.
According to the piece, temporary screening tents have been installed at both the east and west side entrances. You’ll find them just before the security checkpoint at Downtown Disney.

As you can see from the Orange County Register’s image above, these temporary tents and covered walkways can be seen from Harbor Boulevard.
As we previously shared here at MickeyBlog, Downtown Disney will reopen to visitors on July 9th with new measures designed to keep guests safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. This includes temperature checks, reduced attendance, social distancing and enhanced sanitization.
As you can see below, an employee preview will happen tomorrow (July 8th) giving cast members a chance to visit the area before it officially opens to the public.
This temperature check stations aren’t anything new. We’ve seen similar measures being taken at parks in China, Hong Kong and Japan and we’ve reported that similar measures are also being taken in France and Florida.
Signage is also going up around Downtown Disney mandating face masks, and social distancing during your visit. At the temperature screening stations, guests with a temperature of 100.4 degrees will not be allowed to Downtown Disney and must leave with their travelling party. In addition, ONLY outdoor dining will be available due to new social distancing restrictions put in place by Governor Gavin Newsom.
This is a story that we’ll continue to follow closely here at MickeyBlog so keep checking in with us for the latest news and updates.
