Find Out Where Your Favorite NBA Players Will be Staying at Walt Disney World, What They Will Do for Downtime
While things looked a little rocky for the NBA to return to play at Walt Disney World next month over the weekend, today it looks like it is still a go. Per a memo just released by the National Basketball Players Association, we now have a look at which Resort each team will be staying at. We also have some information on what players, coaches, and staff will have access to during their downtime.
Sources: NBA teams Disney hotels based on seeding:
-Grand Destino: Bucks, Lakers, Raptors, Clippers, Celtics, Nuggets, Jazz, Heat
-Grand Floridian: Thunder, 76ers, Rockets, Pacers, Mavericks, Nets, Grizzlies, Magic
-Yacht Club: Blazers, Kings, Pelicans, Spurs, Suns, Wizards— Shams Charania (@ShamsCharania) June 16, 2020
First off, per Shams Charania on Twitter (@ShamsCharania), the following NBA teams will be staying at the following Walt Disney World Resort Hotels:
Gran Destino Tower at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort
- Milwaukee Bucks
- Los Angeles Lakes
- Toronto Raptors
- Los Angeles Clippers
- Boston Celtics
- Denver Nuggets
- Utah Jazz
- Miami Heat
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
- Oklahoma City Thunder
- Philadelphia 76ers
- Houston Rockets
- Indiana Pacers
- Dallas Mavericks
- Brooklyn Nets
- Memphis Grizzlies
- Orlando Magic
Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club
- Portland Trail Blazers
- Sacramento Kings
- New Orleans Pelicans
- San Antonio Spurs
- Phoenix Suns
- Washington Wizards
It’s interesting to note that the NBA players and teams coming to Disney appear to be divided up according to their current standings entering the restarted NBA season at Walt Disney World. The highest seeds appears to be at the Gran Destino Tower at Disney’s Coronado Springs which is a moderate Resort while the middle and bottom teams according to current standings are at deluxe resorts. This makes sense though as the NBA will most likely use the convention center which is also at Coronado Springs for practice facilities.
The NBA Campus at Walt Disney World will also offer players the following activities and amenities:
- Each Walt Disney World Hotel where players are staying will feature a players-only lounge with TVs and gaming consoles as well as pools, trails, barbers, and manicurists/pedicurists
- 24-hour VIP concierge
- Daily entertainment will be offered including movie screenings, DJ sets, ping pong, pool, and lawn games
- Players are invited to attend other games
It is also being reported by Kevin O’Connor on Twitter (@KevinOConnorNBA) that once a team advances past round one on the NBA Playoffs, they will be able to reserve up to 17 rooms for Guests. Players will be responsible for costs and all Guests will be required to self-quarantine and test negative before entering the “NBA Bubble” at Walt Disney World and then quarantine for four more days post-arrival.
