Marvel Responds To Police Officers Using “The Punisher” Logo During Protests and Rallies
In a recent article that appeared in Gizmodo, Marvel has broken their silence on “The Punisher’s” logo being used by police at Black Lives Matter protests which have been taking place since the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis on Memorial Day Weekend.
When questioned about the recent prominence of the logo, Marvel said that they stand by a tweet that the company released on May 31st which says, “We stand against racism. We stand for inclusion. We stand with our fellow Black employees, storytellers, creators and the entire Black community. We must unite and speak out.

In addition, the spokesperson for Marvel also noted that earlier this week, The Walt Disney Company announced that they were pledging $2 million to support the NAACP as part of a $5 million to support nonprofit organizations that advance social justice.
For those unfamiliar, The Punisher, is a renegade United States Marine-turned murderous vigilante. As CBR tells us, the character first appeared in Amazing Spider-Man #129 back in 1974. There have been numerous complaints as of late regarding police and military using the logo.
During the chat with Gizmodo, the Marvel spokesperson references The Punisher #13 which came out last July as an example of the company’s stance on police using the logo. In it, The Punisher meets two police officers who tell him that they admire his methods. He tears the decal on their car and tells them “”We’re not the same. You took an oath to uphold the law. You help people. I gave all that up a long time ago. You don’t do what I do. Nobody does.”
