5 Experiences That Will Be Temporarily Suspended When Walt Disney World Reopens
July 11 and July 15 are the big days! Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park and the Magic Kingdom reopen on July 11 while Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT open on July 15. When the Parks reopen, I can guarantee the magic will still be alive while the overall experience might be a little different at first. Here is a list of experiences that will be temporarily suspend when Walt Disney World welcomes Guests once again.
1. Character Meet and Greets
When Walt Disney World first reopens, character meet and greets are going to be a little different than what we are accustomed to. You will still be able see your favorite Disney characters. But, up close and personal meet and greet experiences are going to be temporarily suspended. Guests will be able to catch characters walking around the Parks, so make sure have your camera ready for a socially distanced selfie!
Disney has also confirmed that character dining will be suspended when the Parks reopen.
2. Festival of Fantasy Parade
Another experience that will be temporarily suspended when the Walt Disney World reopens is the iconic Festival of Fantasy parade at the Magic Kingdom. Unfortunately, it’s nearly impossible to social distance while packed in on Main Street U.S.A to watch the 3 o’clock parade go by!
3. The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and Other Intimate Experiences
Since masks are going to be required by Guests at all times, it would also be next to impossible to get a princess makeover at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. Other experiences such as Character Couture are also said to be suspended until further notice.
4. Fireworks
Like the Festival of Fantasy Parade, it would be near impossible for thousands of people to packed into The Hub to enjoy Happily Ever After at the Magic Kingdom. In addition, all other fireworks experiences at Walt Disney World including Epcot, Forever will be suspended.
5. Playgrounds
Playgrounds at Walt Disney World Resort Hotels as well as any located in the Parks, will be another experience that is temporarily suspended when the Parks reopen.
Even though these experiences being suspended sound like a bummer, there is a bright side! Crowds are going to low which means low wait times for your favorite attractions!
In addition, these experiences at Walt Disney World won’t be suspended forever! Hopefully, as the days go on, some will be gradually added back. If we look to Shanghai China as a guide, they have been reopen for almost a month now and have already started making some changes for the positive and adding some experiences back!
