BREAKING: Iger, Cameron Connect on ‘Avatar 2’ Updates to ‘Flight of Passage’
With the film’s release date only a week away, director James Cameron continues to make waves in the entertainment industry ahead of the debut of “Avatar: The Way of Water.”

With rave reviews coming in, the long-awaited sequel to the original “Avatar” film already sparked questions regarding whether or not the film will appear in some way at Pandora-The World of Avatar, the immersive land at Disney’s Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort.

The pondering went beyond Disney Parks fans though and extends even as far as the film’s brilliant creator, Cameron. In fact, it turns out that Cameron already reached out to newly re-instated Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Iger about the possibility.

In a new Variety article discussing Cameron’s position on how the film will be received, he also let readers into the secret that he and Iger connected recently (shortly after Iger abruptly returned to leading the company on November 20th).

“When Bob Iger came back a couple weeks ago, I did send him an email and say, ‘You know, we can do “Avatar 2” and 3 motifs and put them into the physical hardware of “Avatar Flight of Passage,” Cameron said, according to the Variety article.

Important to note, the question that prompted that response actually asked Cameron whether or not he thought the park would get an entire new attraction dedicated to the movie. Still, Cameron did at least mention that Iger “liked that idea,” according to the piece.

Echoing the thoughts of so many, Cameron described how “Avatar Flight of Passage” has an almost meditative quality about it today and discussed how the new film also evokes the same sense of calm in some of its scenery and cinematography.

“Avatar: The Way of Water” officially hits theatres on December 16th with viewings beginning in the evening the night before. Tickets for most theatres are on sale now.
