Walt Disney World will Offer Soft Openings for Select Individuals
As we have been reporting, Walt Disney World submitted plans yesterday to the state of Florida to reopen their four theme Parks in July. If/when approved, the Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom will reopen on July 11. Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT are scheduled to welcome Guests again beginning on July 15.
BUT, if you are a Walt Disney World Annual Passholder, Cast Member, Club 33 Member, or Disney Vacation Club (DVC) Member you will have first dibs at visiting the Parks prior to the official reopening dates. Disney has announced they will have soft opening days for any members of these “affinity” groups listed.
Walt Disney World soft openings will give Cast Members a great way to implement the new health and safety guidelines that will be in effect when the parks do reopen including mandatory temperature screenings and enhanced sanitation procedures.
Official soft opening dates have not yet been announced but Disney has stated they will share more details with us soon.
In addition to the Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom opening on July 11 and Hollywood Studios and EPCOT reopening on July 15, Disney Vacation Club (DVD) Resorts will reopen to members on June 22 as well as Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. No word yet on when the rest of the Walt Disney World Resort Hotels will begin to reopen.
Today, the Governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis confirmed Walt Disney World’s reopening plans making all these dates official. Yesterday, it was announced that Disney would be auto cancelling all dining reservations, FastPass, and experience reservations. Reservations will be required for Park entry and a new reservation system is being implemented that will allow for Guests to being making new advanced dining reservations, FastPasses, and experiences. We believe more changes will be announced as we approach the reopening date so make sure to keep it here with MickeyBlog.com for all the latest!
