Tokyo Disney’s Downtown Shopping District Will Be Reopening on June 1st
With the amount of cases of the COVID-19 going down in the country of Japan, the theme parks are starting to look at re-opening strategies. In a similar method to the one employed at Walt Disney World, Tokyo Disney has just announced that their version of Disney Springs called Ikspiari will be reopening on Monday, June 1, 2020.
According to the Tokyo Disneyland homepage, Ikspiari has been closed since February 29th. When resuming business, measures will be taken to prevent the spread of infection.
The new business hours for Ikspiari will be 11:00 – 7:00 pm daily. Some stores may be closed or have different hours. The cinema located on the premises, for instance, will operate the ticket booth from 11:00 am – 6:30pm and no late shows will be screened. The Tokyo Disney Resort Ticket Center at the downtown district will also remain closed.
Admission: Entry will be limited for the time being including:
Maihama Station Side
- 1F The Courtyard (10 am – 9 PM)
- 2F Entry Plaza (11 am – 9 PM)
Disney Ambassador Hotel Side:
- 1F Clock Tower Plaza ( 11am – 9pm)
Crowd numbers in the area will be reduced. Tokyo Disney advises that if there is congestion guests may be asked to wait to enter.

Safety and Security: The following safety measures will be put in place:
