BREAKING: Disney Skyliner to Begin Transporting Guest in Fall 2019
Breaking news! Bob Chapek, Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Consumer Products, announced just minutes ago that the Disney Skyliner will be ready to begin transporting guests at the Walt Disney World Resort beginning fall of 2019!
As we already know, this new state-of-the-art gondola system will transport Guests in the sky. This transportation system will consist of three different lines that all converge at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. Each individual cabin can hold up to eight adults and will be large enough for strollers, wheelchairs and electronic scooters.
While they will not provide air conditioning, only air vents that provide passive cooling, they have promised Wifi will be available in all cabins. The Skyline will connect Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot to four resort hotels- Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort and Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort as well as the proposed 15th Disney Vacation Club property, Disney’s Riviera Resort.
The Skyliner is going to change the literal skyline of Walt Disney World. The beams that will serve as the upright stabilization for the Skyliner have been installed, and for those who haven’t visited since then, you will absolutely be able to see it from the roadways, the Resorts, the parking lots, and most importantly, the Parks themselves!
Take a look at this video from our friends at DSNY Newscast for more info on the Skyliner.
Workers just installed the last support tower at the Resort and are beginning to thread the series of reinforced cables to carry guests in stylish themed gondolas. It’s coming along fast!
