Walt Disney’s Grandson Speaks Out About Pay Inequality at the Walt Disney Company
As we’ve previously reported here at MickeyBlog, Abigail Disney, the granddaughter of Walt Disney’s brother Roy Disney has been a vocal opponent of what she sees to be pay inequality at the Walt Disney Company. Now another family member, this time his grandson Brad Lund is also speaking out.
According to a recent piece on CNN, Lund is publically expressing disgust with the company his grandfather founded for furloughing thousands of cast members while continuing to pay out massive bonuses to executives.
In a recent interview, Lund said that, “all family members will join in our dismay” regarding the company’s payment to executives during the furlough period. Lund added, “I have already expressed my hope that the Disney organization continues to give reasonable compensation and support to its many loyal employees in the spirit of the company of which my grandfather was so proud.” He added that it’s the “right thing to do during these difficult times.”
This isn’t the first time Lund has been in the news as of late. He is currently involved in a legal battle over his inheritance with the trustees of his mother’s estate.
