Let’s Be Honest – No One Know When Walt Disney World is Reopening
If you live in the Disney bubble like me, you know what topic is on everyone’s mind right now – “When is Walt Disney World reopening.” But, amid the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, that question has extended far outside the Disney bubble. These days, it seems like everyone is an expert on to when we will be visiting with our favorite Grim, Grinning, Ghosts on the Haunted Mansion again.
So, you are probably still wanting to know, “When is Walt Disney World reopening?” And, I’m here to fill you in on a secret – no one knows. MAYBE the top officials for the Walt Disney Company have an idea when it’s going to happen but that’s about it.
At the same time, I do have an idea when Walt Disney World will reopen. And, that is simply when it is safe.Top employees are in discussions with the State of Florida and local governments in the Orlando area to formulate a plan to safely reopen the state and the theme parks.
Let’s get back to all those theories, speculations, and rumors out there. As a Travel Agent and writer for this amazing Disney blog, I have seen them all! “Disney isn’t reopening until 2021.” “Disney is only going to allow locals in first.” Disney is going to require rapid COVID-19 tests to enter.” Etc, etc, etc.
Is there going to be some truth behind some of this speculation? Absolutely! However, and this is the most important part of this entire article: It’s all just speculation and rumors until Disney confirms it. I also want to state that I would be absolutely shocked if Walt Disney World didn’t reopen until 2021. Shocked.
I definitely have to acknowledge there will be some changes when Walt Disney World does reopen. Earlier this week, we wrote about a survey that was sent out to Universal Guests to gauge what would make them feel the most comfortable once the Parks open again. I will reiterate this is still just speculation, but it might give us a bit of preview of what to expect once they do.
Now, you might be asking what you can do if you currently have a Walt Disney World vacation planned or wanting to start planning one. Here is my solid advice: keep on planning! It will keep that magic alive in your homes and hearts and serve as a distraction during this time of uncertainty. And, if for some reason the Parks are still not reopened by the time of your visit, you will most likely receive a refund as they are currently issuing for those impacted. As an added bonus, those who were impacted by the current round of closures are receiving a free dining offer on their next visit! Score!
Another thing that I can tell you for certain is that when the reopening date is official announced by Walt Disney World, MickeyBlog.com will be the first to bring it to you! Make sure to keep following along with us for all the latest. In the mean time, stay safe and keep wishing upon a star.
