Disney World Summer FREE Dining Plan Promo For Guests Impacted By Theme Park Closure
We actually have some AMAZING news for our Disney friends impacted by the COVID-19 theme park closures. If you have had to move your dates due to the COVID-19 outbreak, Disney is offering a NEW SUMMER RECOVERY FREE DINING PACKAGE which will cover you should you reschedule your travel dates from June 1, 2020, through September 30, 2020.
You must have an existing package booked (or recently cancelled) from March 16, 2020 – May 31, 2020 to qualify for this offer! Packages cancelled before March 1, 2020 WILL NOT qualify for the offer.

What Is The Free Dining Plan?
Free Dining is exactly what it sounds like. It is Disney’s promotion which allows guests to include a dining plan with their resort reservation absolutely FREE. Do you know what that means? Free Dole Whips for snacks, free character dining at locations such as Chef Mickey’s, and for those of age a free “adult beverage” with certain meals.
Of course, there are requirements to obtain such a delicious offer. So take a look:
Which Dining Plan Will Be Included With My Package?
Dining Plans are broken into three categories: Quick Service, Disney Dining, and Deluxe Dining. This promotion only includes the Quick Service and Disney Dining Plans and each resort category offers a specific plan:
- Value Resort – Quick Service Dining Plan
- Moderate Resort – Quick Service Dining Plan
- Deluxe Resort – Disney Dining Plan
Guests have the ability to upgrade your dining plans for an additional cost. This PAID upgrade can also include the Plus and Deluxe dining plans.
Eligibility Requirements:
As we mentioned above, guests are only eligible for FREE Dining if you had a previous reservation impacted by the COVID-19 shutdown. Packages must also consist of a minimum 2-night stay at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel. You also must have a minimum of a 2-Day Base Ticket attached to your Walt Disney World vacation package. The offer excludes the campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort.
How Will I Know If I Qualify?
Disney World is reaching out to all guests via email to let you know that you qualify for the offer. If you receive an email you can follow the instructions or reach out to your existing travel agent for assistance.

What If My Original Booking Was For A Room-Only Reservation?
You would still qualify for the FREE Dining offer provided that you upgrade to a Walt Disney World vacation package with resorts and tickets.
FREE Dining Package Dates Don’t Work For Your Family?
If you had to cancel your Walt Disney World vacation package due to the COVID-19 closure but June – September 2020 dates don’t work for you- don’t worry. This is just one of MANY discounts we expect Disney to offer in the year ahead!

What If I Already Cancelled My Package?
As long the ORIGINAL package that you had to cancel falls between March 16, 2020, and May 31, 2020, and you DID NOT CANCEL before March 1, 2020, you qualify for the FREE Dining Offer when you re-instate your reservation with the new dates June 1, 2020 – September 30, 2020.
What If I Don’t Have An Existing Package Booked Or Haven’t Recently Cancelled?
As of going to print, this promo is ONLY available to guests who have had to cancel or alter their plans due to the COVID-19 closure. However, that is not to say that this offer won’t open up to the general public eventually. What if you didn’t receive an email, but you meet all the other requirements. Are you still eligible?
we cancelled two nights at a Disney Springs Area hotel. and 1 day in the parks. Will we be covered with this to try and re-book?
Dining plan leaves no gratuity for the servers. All the currently out of work staff is going to be stiffed of tips with these “free” meals. The dining plan makes the workers owe money to the food runners and bartenders because Disney is to cheap to take care of the wait staff.
Hi. I dint book a vacation package with Disney, I booked with Southwest Airlines, I booked Caribbean resort stay for 6 nights, 2 day park tickets & of course the flight. I cancelled the trip week of March 8th, I haven’t rebooked yet. Do I still qualify for the free meal plan or do I have book thru Disney?
Any idea if annual pass holders can claim this? We are booked for May with the dining plan right now.
Wish they had options for non-Disney resort stays.
