Guy Fieri Helps Launch COVID-19 Relief Fund To Help Restaurant Workers
Famed restaurateur Guy Fieri, owner of the popular Chicken Guy! at Disney Springs has teamed up with the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation to launch the Restaurant Employee Relief Fund. According to a recent piece on Fox 35, this initiative will provide support to food workers whose jobs have been impacted by the COVID-19 shutdown.
The money donated to the fund will help support restaurant workers in need. Those impacted can apply for a one-time $500 check from the fund which can be used to meeting basic costs including rent, utilities, groceries and even medical bills.
Applications for the checks start TODAY (April 2nd) and funds will be distributed on a “first-come, first-served basis.”
In the official press release Fieri had this to say about the restaurant workers, “they are the hardest working, most real deal workers you’ve ever met… the heartbeats of their communities.” He added, “We can serve up some support when these restaurant employees need it most… right now,”
