Meghan Markle Offered Disney Voiceover Roll Prior to Prince Harry Pitching to Bob Iger
As we have reported, Meghan Markle has a featured voiceover roll in the new DisneyNature film, “Elephant.” At first it was speculated that Markle received the roll after her husband, Prince Harry, was seen talking to Bob Iger at the UK premiere of the “Lion King.” But, after farther research, the Daily Star is reporting that is not the case.
Meghan Markle was actually offered this roll before the interaction between Prince Harry and Bob Iger took place. She was actually approached before the premiere by the filmmakers Mark and Vanessa Berlowitz. Hello! magazine also reports that she, “Had been aware of the film for some time and had seen some of the footage taken over a few years, so the team thought she would be a good fit for the narration given her passion for the subject.”

Meghan Markle recorded the voiceover this past Fall. Her one stipulation was that the proceeds of the film would go to the wildlife charity Elephants Without Borders which released the following statement of appreciation:
“Everyone at EWB is grateful for their friendship and their unwavering support of our efforts to conserve this iconic species. Harry and Meghan have both visited us in Botswana, and [we] have no doubt that their passion and dedication will mean they continue to use their platform to make our world a better place.
“Thank you, Meghan. Because of you, this film brings knowledge and information to a global audience which in turn brings them closer to elephants. The impact will be global, reaching schools, more homes, and more countries.”
Meghan Markle and Price Harry recently moved from Canada to Los Angeles. With this move it might mean more voiceover rolls or even acting jobs will be in her future!
