An Empty Disney World
Disney World has only closed a handful of times, and those times were for hurricanes. For a week now, Disney World has been completely deserted while losing an estimated $40 million a day. You figure, Magic Kingdom alone sees 50,000 visitors a day on average, and the price for anyone over the age of ten for a day pass to visit is $170 and for children aged three to nine, the day pass is $116. Not to mention, throw in food and merchandise sales they are missing out on.
Although we don’t know for certain when they will open back up, Orange County will order its more than 1.3 million residents to stay at home beginning Thursday and lasting through April 12th. So while we can’t visit the happiest place on Earth, we can look at these sad, yet beautiful pictures of an empty Disney World.
In total Disney has closed eleven theme parks in North America, Europe and Asia.
