PHOTOS: A Closer Look at Regal Eagle Smokehouse
During a recent visit to Epcot, one of our MickeyBloggers was invited to get an up-close and personal look at Regal Eagle Smokehouse.
This quick-service location is the newest place to dine at The American Adventure pavilion in EPCOT. Serving up craft drafts and barbecue, this is sure to become a Disney foodie favorite.
The Regal Eagle takes its name from the patriotic Muppet, Sam the Eagle. As you can see, Sam has been incorporated into the signage at the new location.
A giant smoker outside gives you an idea of what this restaurant has in store.
Once inside, you’ll find plenty of seating in this open, airy setting. Each table comes fully stocked with a roll of paper towels because…. barbecue.
As you explore the interior, you’ll find red, white, and blue banners strewn about in a nod to all things, but (as Sam Eagle would say) “mostly America”.
The decor around the restaurant will take you back more than a century. Cast iron pans line the wall here in the photo below.
Here you’ll see signage “of the times”, which adds to the overall theming of Regal Eagle Smokehouse.
While this double oven may not be working, it certainly does set the tone and bring you back to another time in America’s history.
Now it’s time to hop in line and order (unless you decided to mobile order in which case you can just head over to pick up your meal).
The menu is stock full of delicious, barbecue options from various regions in the U.S. You decide which type of barbecue is the winner in this imaginary “cook-off”.
Kids have their own menu to choose from and don’t forget to grab yourself a frosty beverage to wash things down.
Once you’ve grabbed your meal, head over for utensils and condiments. There’s also a fill station for beverages.
Now let’s take a closer look at those menu items.
First up is the Kansas City Smoked Half-Chicken which is slow-smoked and smothered in Sweet BBQ Sauce. It is served with Garlic Toast and a side of your choosing. This side pictured below is the House-made Pickles.
Next is the American Platter, which is a choice of 3 meats served with Garlic Toast and a side. The side pictured below is the Macaroni & Cheese.
Below are the Memphis Dry-rub Pork Ribs dry-rubbed and slow-smoked in a pit and served with Garlic Toast and side of choice. This side pictured below is the Beer-Battered Onion Rings.
The BBQ Burger is 1/3 lb Angus Burger on Garlic Toast topped with BBQ Park and Fried Onion Ring served with your choice of side (in this case french fries).
The Sliced Texas Beef Brisket Sandwich is rubbed with a secret Brisket Rub and slow-smoked and smothered in Spicy Mop Sauce and placed between two pieces of Texas Toast. It is served with your choice of side, in this case, the Creamy Coleslaw.
Finally, the North Carolina Chopped Smoked Pork Butt Platter is topped with North Carolina Vinegar Sauce and served with Garlic Toast and a choice of side (pictured is the Baked Beans with Burnt Ends).
Now it’s time for dessert! First up is the Smores Brownie. Everyone will be wanting s’more of this!
There’s also a Banana Pudding topped with Nilla Wafers. Yum!
