BREAKING NEWS: New Patio Furniture, Carpeting and Lighting Being Added to Polynesian Resort
It is a bustle of activity over at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort this morning as this beloved monorail resort gets ready to welcome back guests on July 19th!
Our MickeyBloggers ore on the scene as a crew gives the exterior a quick paint job.
Some superficial work is still being done to the outside patio areas and walkways.
Here are some awesome team members giving us a smile!
Some areas were being hosed down to clear away dust and debris.
We’ve got some window cleaning going on.
And as you can see below, we’ve got some new patio furniture moving in!
And the team is working hard to get to those hard-to-reach areas.
During our visit, we managed to get a closer look at the patio furniture and are excited to give you this exclusive first glimpse!
The side tables are reminiscent of the rattan style that you’ll find inside.
The chairs are sleek, simple and are perfect for the mid-century modern feel of the resort.
As we mentioned before, all of the guest rooms received a Moana makeover. Many of these details are carried over to the interior hallways as well.

Earlier this year, a Cast Member took to Facebook to give us a first look at the way the new interior hallways will look at the resort.
Below ou can see rolls of this interior carpet being brought into the the property.
It looks like there are some common areas that still need that tropical makeover.
The fact that there seems to be only small cosmetic final touches being made indicates that the guest rooms themselves will be ready to welcome back guests on July 19th.
The same does not hold true for the monorail platform and the porte cochere on the property which is still deep in construction.
For this reason, guests staying at the Polynesian this Summer will have to rely on other modes of transportation including bus and boat.
Disney has yet to announce a day for the completion of the work at the Great Ceremonial House but we’ll keep you posted.
We got a glimpse inside the corridors.
The hallways to the guest rooms were very busy as crews worked on the lighting and other decor in these areas.
This includes the sconces as well as decorative panels like the one we shared above!
We can’t wait to see what the finished product will look like in just a few days time!
For those staying on property but not at the Poly, most shops and eateries in the Great Ceremonial House are open including ‘Ohana, Pineapple Lanai, Bou-Tiki and more!
This is a story that we will continue to follow closely. Readers are encouraged to keep checking back with us for further news and updates!
The patio chairs don’t look super inviting or comfortable compared to what they are replacing, but everything else looks great !
