Ever Wonder What Happened To the Animatronics From The Great Movie Ride? Dick Van Dyke Knows
With Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway opening up in just a week (March 4th), guests will be heading back into Grauman’s Chinese Theater, the former home of the much-loved Great Movie Ride.
The Great Movie Ride which took guests through some of the key scenes from important films in cinematic history officially shuttered its gates on August 13, 2017. Since then many fans have wondered what happened to the large number of animatronic figures that were featured in the ride. Now we here at MickeyBlog can say that we know the whereabouts of one of them!
And how we came about that knowledge is definitely random!
Legendary actor and original Bert from Mary Poppins, Dick Van Dyke, recently recorded an online promo for Presidential Candidate Bernie Sanders and look what shows up in the background!
In the ad, he shows off some of the memorabilia from his prolific career including this figure from the Great Movie Ride!
Here he is in another shot posing with two versions of Bert from the classic Disney film! You can see the commercial in its entirety in the video clip below!
And if you haven’t yet seen Mary Poppins Returns, we can’t recommend it enough! Dick Van Dyke makes an awesome cameo in the film that is sure to have you smiling!
