Walt Disney World Wait Times Soar Over Presidents Day Weekend
We get asked a lot at MickeyBlog and our Travel Agency MickeyTravels what crowds are like over busier weekends like Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day etc! Any time you want to visit Walt Disney World over a long holiday weekend you betcha so does everyone else! This, of course, does not mean that you won’t have a magical time. It does, however, mean that an extra little bit of strategizing can go a long way!
For those high crowd level non-believers here’s a screengrab taken at 3:30 EST today (February 16th) showing how the wait times are looking across all Walt Disney World theme parks.
Brace yourselves:
Magic Kingdom
As you can see the wait times are manageable for some Disney attractions like Enchanted Tales With Belle or Tomorrowland Speedway.
However, we start to see larger crowds for rides like Big Thunder Mountain and Jungle Cruise.
However, the full weight of the crowd levels can be seen with Magic Kingdom Wait Times over the 100-minute mark for Peter Pan’s Flight, Space Mountain and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train!
Epcot:
Next, let’s move over to Epcot where 50-minute ride for Soarin’ doesn’t seem like that big of a deal on most days. However, 55 minutes for Journey Into The Imagination with Figment and a staggering 120 Minutes for Frozen Ever After attests to the larger-than-normal crowd levels today!
Hollywood Studios
We had a feeling that you’d be able to feel the crowd levels at Hollywood Studios the most as vistors check out the new Toy Story Land as well as Galaxy’s Edge. Though some attractions like Star Tours may seem manageable let’s take a look at the heavy hitters!
If you are planning on spending the weekend here then be prepared to make good use of your FastPasses or prepare to wait in line a lot. Toy Story Mania, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster and Smugglers Run each over the 100 Minute Mark. Slinky Dog Dash it would seem is temporarily down but once re-open its safe to assume its wait times would be in the 100+ minute range!
Animal Kingdom
We’ll leave with the longest Wait Time of the Day. Proving that its still tops in the attraction stakes, Avatar Flight of Passage has a line of 225 minutes! We’re also surprised by the 125 minutes currently being reported for Kiliminjaro Safaris!
All in all, its a busy day at Walt Disney World! However, like we said above, here at MickeyBlog we are a firm believer that every day at Disney can be magical despite the crows with a bit of forward planning! That’s where we come in!
