Could Captain Marvel Be Getting A Girlfriend in the Sequel?
Ever since Captain Marvel became a box office smash this past Summer, fans have been asking if Carol Danvers (played in the film by Brie Larson) will end up coming out as one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s LGBT superheroes. In fact, according to a recent story on We Got This Covered inside sources have reported that Marvel does indeed want to give Carol Danvers a girlfriend in the film.
In fact, producer Victoria Alonso even teased it during her Reddit AMA, saying that “Carol could eventually have a love story with someone of the same sex,” before adding that she thinks “it would be something incredible on the part of the MCU.” So who might the character be? Though the studio hasn’t confirmed anything official, we do know that Carol will get a new partner in the sequel. We also know that Jessica Jones is slated to show up as a new character becoming a friend to Captain Marvel. According to the piece, the inside source suggests that seeds will be planted for Captain Marvel’s romantic future and these characters may offer us a clue as to how!
It should be noted that as of going to print, reports about a girlfriend for Captain Marvel are unconfirmed. However, this story is one that we here at MickeyBlog are watching closely so keep following along!
