Jason Ritter is one of several new actors in the upcoming Frozen 2 film. Earlier this week he spoke to EW.com about his new character who strikes up a friendship with Kristoff.
He even said his character, Ryder, gives Kristoff some love advice. According to Ritter, “Yes, exactly. I try to help Kristoff out. I’m his wingman a little bit. We both have an affinity for reindeer, I think that’s where we bond.”
In the sequel which will be out in theaters on November 22nd, Elsa (Idina Menzel), Anna (Kristen Bell), Kristoff, Olaf (Josh Gad) and Sven (Frank Welker) leave Arendelle and trave to a mystical northern in order to save their kingdom. They may even discover the origins of Elsa’s powers. During their journey that also encounter a group of northern nomads which includes Ryder voiced by Jason Ritter along with his free-spirited sister Honeymaren (voiced by Rachel Matthews).
When asked in the same interview where he found out that he landed the role of Ryder, Ritter recounts, “I was in my car, I had just pulled into my garage, because I don’t want to talk on the phone while I’m driving,” he joked. “I called back and I got the news, and I screamed very loud.”
Other new cast members on board for the sequel include Alfred Molina, Evan Rachel Wood and Sterling K. Brown.
