4 Year Old Evan Has Won Over the Hearts of Disney Characters With His Awesomeness
We’ve got another fantastic feel-good story for your Tuesday afternoon! Here at MickeyBlog, we (like many Disneyland characters) have been completely won over by 4-year-old Evan. Like many kids his age, Evan (who also has Autism) is a HUGE Disney fan! As a matter of fact, not only does he love spending time at the theme parks but he also loves dressing the part!
According to a recent piece appearing on CBS News, Evan who was adopted out of foster care has experienced his fair share of adversity. His mother was addicted to drugs and he was born prematurely. He was also diagnosed with microcephaly “and global developmental delays.” His adopted mother Eeka Rocha McLeod told the network, “His muscles are weak, he’s only begun talking recently and still struggles with speech, and his social interactions are always a little unique.”
However, Evan’s family is lucky enough to live near Disneyland and often share videos of their kids living the magic on Instagram. During his visits Evan has won over many a Disney character (princesses especially) not only with his bubbly personality but also with his incredible costumes! He mom explains that Evan loves wearing dresses to the parks! She said that Evan first asked to wear a dress in June when his family was getting ready for their weekly Disneyland visit! She said that he was adamant that he wanted to go as Snow White.
Since then, Evan with his awesome mohawk and enviable frocks can often be seen mingling with Disney’s goodies (and baddies) as you can see in the clip with Maleficent above. McLeod said, “It didn’t take long for me to realize that Evan’s way of thinking and behaving wasn’t so different from most children. The only real difference is he tosses a whole lotta FABULOUS into everything he does.”
McLeod admitted that she has had negative comments made about her son wearing dresses but that won’t dissuade the visits or from sharing her families magical moments on Instagram. And fortunately for Evan, as you can see above, the characters at Disneyland don’t judge him or shun him!
