Skyliner Closure Reported This Evening (September 30th)
As I’m sure you are well aware, Disney’s Skyliner Service officially launched yesterday to much fanfare and to next to no reports of technical glitches. The new system connects guests at select Walt Disney World resorts (Caribbean Beach, Pop Century, Art of Animation and Disney’s Riviera Resort) to Epcot and Hollywood Studios via cable cars offering stunning sightlines.
However, MickeyBlog is on the scene at Epcot this evening to live stream the final performance of “IllumiNations” and we can report that the Skyliner has been shut down intermittently throughout the evening.
A guest we spoke earlier this evening reported that she was at Guest Relations a bit earlier this evening where guests were registering complaints regarding being stuck on Skyliner when doors failed to open at the station! Visitors were concerned at the lack of airflow and it isn’t clear as of going to print whether and for how long guests might have been stuck mid-air.
We also noticed this post on twitter, which seems to corroborate the closure
@DisneyParks what is wrong with the skyliner? Over 20 minutes hanging out. Literally. We’ve been stopped 3 times and have barely moved from Epcot to the turn. And now the rain is here. #skyliner

Other Disney insiders are reporting that the Skyliner is in Emergency Protocol and that it will remain shut down for the next two hours!
We are currently live-streaming the final IllumiNations fireworks display which we hope you’re following along with on our Facebook page but promise to keep you updated of any further Skyliner closures as we learn more this evening!
Readers are encouraged to keep following along with MickeyBlog for the latest Walt Disney World news and updates.
