What Happens If I’m Planning a Visit to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge After June 24th?
As we’ve been reporting here at MickeyBlog for quite some time, the first full month that Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Resort was open, an advanced reservation was required to enter the land – EVEN IF YOU HAD A THEME PARK TICKET. Timed reservations to visit Star Wars land filled up quickly meaning many Summer visitors who weren’t staying onsite were not able to access the new area and attractions. This policy was slated to be in effect until June 23rd leading many to question what happens next.
With a change in how guests access the park, Disneyland has today offered up some tips for visiting Batuu from June 24th onward. Let’s take a look.
Boarding Groups
Guests hoping to live out your adventures at Galaxy’s Edge will be able to use a virtual queuing system. In order to do so you must download the Disneyland App prior to your visit. One the day that you visit you should check the app or signage to find out if you will need to be part of a boarding group to visit Galaxy’s Edge that day. What that essentially means is that to minimize overcrowding, Disney will save you a virtual spot in line so you can enjoy other experiences at Disneyland theme park. You will then be notified of a time when you can visit Black Spire Outpost at Galaxy’s Edge.
If it’s necessary to join a boarding group you can do so after entering Disneyland park. But be sure to link the theme park tickets of everyone in your party together on the app to request the same boarding party for your entire group. Signage will be available at the park to let you know what boarding group is currently being allowed entry. Guests with the App on your phone and with push notifications enabled will also receive a notification when you are able to enter the land! Guests will have up to TWO hours to enter Galaxy’s Edge after your boarding group so that you don’t have to rush away from other attractions or dining experiences.
For guests opting not to use the Disneyland app, you can find details regarding your boarding group and select FASTPASS Service locations throughout the park. These include:
- Haunted Mansion
- Indian Jones Adventure
- Space Mountain
- Splash Mountain
- Matterhorn Bobsled

Reservations for Savi’s Workshop and Oga’s Cantina
Visitors to Galaxy’s Edge looking to make your own lightsaber or saddle up to the bar for a canteen scene of your own will also need a reservation! Both of these spaces at Black Spire outpost have limited capacities. This means that guests wishing to book a reservation can do so on the same day of your Galaxy’s Edge visit starting at 7am. A valid credit card is required to lock in your space. Reservations for both experiences will allow access to Galaxy’s Edge so a separate book group reservation ISN’T REQUIRED.
