VIDEO: What Happens When Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run Breaks Down?

With the sheer amount of guests visiting the headlining attraction at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Resort, it’s inevitable that there will be the odd hiccup or two.  For most of us regular Disney visitors we’ve all had at least one experience of a ride breaking down, vehicles coming to a halt or the lights being turned on unexpectedly.  Therefore it’s not surprising that reports are coming in of flights aboard the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run not always going according to plan.

As you can see from the video above, piloting the Falcon isn’t always as easy as it looks.  Like many of Disney’s modern attractions, the ride uses large video screens.  In this case, they are connected to a gaming engine (as part of a collaboration between Disney and Nvidia)  to give guests the impression that your sailing into outer space and punching it to light speed! 

Though we here at MickeyBlog haven’t heard any real complaints of ride malfunctions,  there’s now proof that there are a few here and there.  In the video above, the ride seemingly gets stuck and objects can be seen glitching into view that obviously weren’t supposed to be there!

With any new attractions introduced into the theme parks, there are sure to be teething problems and it certainly hasn’t stopped the massive influx of guests heading to Disneyland this Summer to give piloting this iconic spacecraft a go!
