Cinderella Gets a New Pony at Walt Disney World!
Magic is afoot over at Walt Disney World where Cinderella is the proud recipient of a brand new pony friend. We here at MickeyBlog are excited to introduce you to the newest “Cinderella Pony” named Lilly!
Let’s take a closer look at Lilly stealing some quiet time with the Princess.
For those familiar with Disney history, you’ll know that Lilly takes her name from Walt Disney’s wife Lillian Disney! She was born March and holds the distinction of being the first Shetland pony born at the Tri-Circle-D Ranch at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. She is the daughter of Lady and Ferdinand who pull the iconic pumpkin coach for Disney’s Fairytale Weddings and parades at the Magic Kingdom.
For now, Lilly has plenty of time to enjoy her childhood but when she turns two she will begin training and a year later will join her parents pulling Cinderella’s magical coach! In the meantime, you can say hello to Lilly in the pasture near the barn at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground for a few hours each day! Looking after Lilly and the other horses here requires a full team of 35 ranch hands who care for the 90 horses and ponies that call the Tri-Circle-D Ranch home!
Viewing the horses at Tri-Circle D-Ranch and enjoying trail rides and carriage rides are one of the many things that makes Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground so special! For other reasons why Fort Wilderness is one of our favorite places to stay while at Disney check out this article.
