Foodie Guide to Iconic Disneyland Treats
Disneyland Resort is home to some of Disney’s most iconic treats. From Mickey bars and churros to corn dogs and bread bowls, you’ll find popular Disney goodies around every corner. To give you a taste of some of the amazing items you have to try during your next Disney visit check out some of the Disneyland’s most sought after treats!
DISNEYLAND CHURROS – CARTS AND KIOSKS THROUGHOUT THE PARK
If you’re a churro fan then you’re in luck as there’s no shortage of awesome places to give this iconic Disneyland treat a try. At Disneyland, you’ll find everything from classic flavors like cinnamon sugar to special seasonal flavor!
TIGGER TAILS- HUNNY SPOT
Sure to put a smile on your face head over to Hunny Spot at Critter Country and order up this delicious marshmallow wand! It’s sure to make you want to BOUNCE!
MICKEY PRETZEL – CARTS AND KIOSKS
For those that prefer a savory snack, it doesn’t get much better than this tasty Mickey-shaped treat! You’ll find Mickey Pretzels at kiosks located throughout the park!
DOLE WHIP – TIKI JUICE BAR AND THE TROPICAL HIDEAWAY
Head over to Adventureland to give this legendary Pineapple Dole Whip Soft-Serve treat a try. It is the perfect treat for those sunny California afternoons. You can find Dole Whips at both the Tiki Juice Bar where you can order it up in a cup or a float with Dole Pineapple Juice. Alternatively, you can head over to The Tropical Hideaway near the Jungle Cruise which offers pineapple and orange swirl, pineapple and raspberry swirl or even a Loaded Whip service with pineapple and orange swirl as well as fruit and crystalized hibiscus.
MICKEY-SHAPED BEIGNETS – MINT JULEP BAR
You haven’t lived until you’ve sampled one of these awesome Mickey-shaped fried donuts doused to powdered sugar. You’ll find them at the Mint Julep Bar in New Orleans Square. Seasonal varieties are also available depending on the time of year. Some of our favorites include butterscotch and peppermint!
MATTERHORN MACAROON – JOLLY HOLIDAY BAKERY CAFE
Drawing its inspiration from the snow-capped mountain that towers above the theme park, the Matterhorn Macaroon can be found at Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe right off the end of Main Street, U.S.A. This wonderful coconut cookie is a little piece of heaven!
CHEDDAR GARLIC BAGEL TWIST – MAURICE’S TREATS
The Cheddar Garlic Bagel Twist is a freshly-baked baguette-style snack that can be found at Maurice’s Treats. You’ll find this small cart located across from the Royal Theatre in Fantasyland. While you’re there we also recommend a Boysen Apple Freeze as the perfect accompaniment.
THE GREY STUFF – RED ROSE TAVERNE
Try the Grey Stuff, it’s delicious! Don’t believe us? Ask any Disney regular who will tell you this is a must-try treat! This delicious treat is made up of white chocolate mousse and red velvet cake with a raspberry center!
POMMES FRITES AND MONTE CRISTO – CAFÉ ORLÉANS
This New Orleans Square table service restaurant is known for it’s New Orleans inspired dishes including the popular Pommes Frites and Monte Cristo. The Pommes Frites are a great way to kick off your meal and are made up of traditional french-fried potatoes tossed in Parmesan cheese, garlic and parsley. The perfect finishing touch is the Cajun Spice Remoulade sauces that gives it that extra little bit of kick! For your entree, tuck into the Monte Cristo Sandwich! This Disneyland classic is served with sliced ham, turkey and Swiss fried in a light, fluffy batter. As if that weren’t enough, its doused in powdered sugar and comes with a side of berry puree. Cheese lovers may also want to try the Three Cheese Monte Cristo with Swiss, mozzarella and double creme brie.
MICKEY WAFFLES, FRIED PICKLES, AND MORE – CARNATION CAFÉ
Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and located in the center of Main Street, U.S.A., Carnation Café has a wide variety of classic American dishes with something for everyone. For breakfast make this your go-to spot for iconic Mickey waffles! These large Mickey-shaped waffles come topped with your choice apples or strawberries and are served with hickory-smoked bacon or sausage links. And for lunch and dinner, you can dine on some crunchy Fried Pickles (dill pickle spears dipped in Parmesan and panko, fried golden brown, and served with a house-made sauce), Baked Potato Soup, or even Walt’s Chili – a hearty chili topped with cheese, sour cream, and fresh tomatoes that was one of Walt Disney’s favorite dishes.
FRIED CHICKEN, CHARACTER BREAKFAST, AND DINING PACKAGES WITH SPECIAL PARADE VIEWING – PLAZA INN
Trust me when I say that you haven’t had fried chicken until you’ve had the fried chicken at Plaza Inn. These scrumptious pieces of chicken are fried to a crisp and served up with savory helpings of mashed potatoes, buttermilk biscuits, and seasonal vegetables. In addition, if you’re looking for a dining fun dining experience to enhance your day at the park, this restaurant offers a fun character breakfast as well as special dining packages where you can enjoy special reserved viewing for the daily parade.
