Dates for Final Showing of Illuminations and Epcot’s New Nighttime Show Announced
Tonight, we have some bittersweet news to pass along. The date for the final showing of Illuminations: Reflections of Earth at Epcot has been announced. Guests will have until September 30, 2019 to see the popular nighttime spectacular.
Last year, Disney confirmed that Illuminations: Reflections of Earth would be ending in 2019 and be replaced by a new nighttime show entitled “Epcot, Forever.” We also have learned tonight that “Epcot, Forever” will make its official debut on October 1, 2019. “Epcot, Forever” will feature some of your favorite Epcot tunes and will begin with a spark of imagination that swells into an epic spectacle of fireworks, music, lighting, lasers, and special effects kites.

However, “Epcot, Forever” will only be around for a limited time until it is replaced by yet another new nighttime show. The yet-to-be-named nighttime spectacular at Epcot will celebrate how Disney music inspires people around the world and will feature massive floating set pieces, custom-built LED panels, choreographed moving fountains, lights, pyrotechnics, and lasers.
The new nighttime shows are just one of several changes coming to Epcot in the future. Two new attractions are already under construction including the Remy ride coming to the France Pavilion and the Guardians of the Galaxy Coaster coming to Future World. The France Pavilion will also see a new movie, along with the addition of a new restaurant and a “Beauty and the Beast” themed sing-a-long. A new movie will debut in the Canada Pavilion as well. Guests will also experience a completely re-imagined Future World.
