Epcot’s Food & Wine Festival and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge to Open on Same Day!

Last week we shared the exciting news that dates have officially been announced for this year’s Epcot International Food & Wine Festival which will once again be wowing Disney foodies from August 29th through until November 23rd with incredible eats, awesome concerts, workshops, seminars, family activities and so much more!

After running the piece many of readers were quick to highlight the fact that August 29th, opening date for the Food & Wine Fest is the same day that Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

So what does this mean for visiting Disney guests? On the plus side, it means that there will be even more for guests to see, do and explore during a late August or September visit to Walt Disney World. Not only will you be able to experience Galaxy’s Edge for the first time including Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run but you can also feast on the incredible dishes that will be on hand at the Food & Wine Festival marketplaces.

However, this may be even more reason for guests, planning a visit around this time to take heed! Not only will Disney be experiencing an influx of guests waiting to get a first glimpse at Galaxy’s Edge but it will also make it a popular time for Disney foodies, looking to be among the first to enjoy Food & Wine Fest.

For this reason, if you’re planning on being at the parks for the Food & Wine Festival or the opening of Galaxy’s Edge, it is strongly recommended that resort reservations be made straight away. We would expect many onsite properties to experience extremely limited availability during this time.
