Disney World Implements $6 Charge for Package Delivery To Your Resort Room
For many families planning a visit to Walt Disney World, having essentials shipped to your resort room like water, groceries, toiletries and other must-have items can be a real time and money saver. As regular Disney visitor, I’ll frequently have cases of water delivered to the room, on-the-go breakfast items and first aid essentials via services like Garden Grocer or Amazon’s Prime Pantry Now. For longer stays, I’ve even shipped items down and had them waiting for me when I arrived!
And I am definitely not alone! Having deliveries shipped to you at the resort is a common occurrence with many Disney regulars, that’s why we here at MickeyBlog wanted to let you know about a recent change to Disney’s delivery policies.
Receiving Mail At Your Walt Disney World Resort
Guest’s staying at Walt Disney World Resort hotels can receive mail throughout your stay. This includes shipping items in advance of your vacation to help save luggage space. Going forward if guests wish for the items to be delivered directly to your Walt Disney World resort room by Bell Services Disney will now charge a $6 per package handling fee.
Visitors should note that as an alternative you can go to Bell Services to pick up your deliveries directly to avoid the $6 per package charge. Guess should also note that this doesn’t include the Magical Express, Disney Cruise Line or Check-Out Documents that Disney may slip under your door throughout your stay!
Pointers for Those Planning On Receiving Mail at Your Walt Disney World Resort
If you do intend on having mail or packages delivered to your resort during your stay please be sure the letter or package
- Includes the mailing address of your Disney Resort Hotel
- Clearly features the word “Guest” on the front along with your name and date of arrival.
WIll I Be Charged a $6 Fee If I Have Souvenirs Sent Back To the Resorts From the Theme Parks?
Nope. This is a different system. As you know, one of the big perks of staying onsite at a Walt Disney World resort is the ability to have any souvenirs or gifts you buy at the theme parks delivered directly to your Walt Disney World Resort for pick-up. This means that you don’t have to worry about carrying bulky purchases around with you while you enjoy the parks. Under this system, all items are delivered to the gift shop at your Walt Disney World resort within 24 hours. You must visit the gift shop with your receipt to pick up your purchases. Since they are not being delivered to your room, there are no fees attached.
Wait! I Can Have Groceries Delivered to My Resort Room!?
You sure can. Many regular Disney visitors (especially those of use that fly into Orlando and don’t have a car) find this to be an absolute game changer. As a matter of fact, there are local grocers that specialize in making deliveries to Disney resorts as well as services like Prime Pantry Now!
